Our Knowledge Centre offers insights into your dog’s stay with us, our resort operations, and general health issues your dog may encounter throughout their life.

Caring for Your Dog

Canine Cough

Canine Cough (previously known as Kennel Cough) is the most misunderstood issue in dog health. Even if your dog is vaccinated they can still contract Canine Cough anywhere there is another dog. But don’t be concerned. Read our brochure on what it is, how it moves through your dog’s system and how to support your dog through it. This is a must read for ALL dog owners.

Hot Spots

Nasty and annoying, hot spots can pop up without any warning and can develop very quickly into a painful skin condition for your dog. Our flier helps you to understand what they are, how they come to be, the most likely places they will occur and what to do if you ever find your dog has a hot spot – small or large. This is a must read for anyone whose dog loves to play in the water and has hair.

Bloat

Gastric Dilatation Volvulus (GDV) or more commonly known as Bloat is an insidious condition that can occur in dogs quickly and be deadly. Large chested and giant breed dogs are most at risk and while Vets don’t know the cause of Bloat, understanding the warning signs and the measures to try to avoid this are critical for those with at risk breeds. Please read this and share with everyone you know that have a large / giant breed or large chested dog – it could help save a life one day.

Weight Loss / Gain

Weight loss / gain can be tricky to understand in dogs but this brochure has been designed to help you understand the causes and the actions that can be taken to help minimise these issues. It also provides a visual guide so you can tell if your dog is over, under or just right with their weight.

Rehoming

The hardest thing to do but sometimes the most necessary. If you have to rehome your dog or help a family member or friend do so we have put together this flier with some important tips on how to help find your dog their furrever home.

Rehabilitation Care

Post-operative care is one of the many services we offer. If your dog has had surgery and no longer needs to be at the Vet, but you are uncertain of how to care for them, then please read our brochure on how we can assist you with your dog’s recovery. At We Love Dogs we have specifically designed facilities to help your dog on their road of recovery.
